Lyon, place Bellecour (1895)
I'm going to guess that the Lumiere Brothers shot this film at the same time as PLACE DES CORDELIERS A LYON, which was released the same year and appears to have been shot on the same street. I say this because both films just capture what was happening on a snowy road. The other film had the camera directly on the street but this one here has it higher up so you get a longer view of the street and everything that is going on. Again, there's certainly nothing ground-breaking about this movie or others like it but it's fascinating getting to see a moment in time. The cinematography is actually excellent and the camera position gives us a great view.
